Matthew Roth to accompany his Award winning film!

We had previously announce that Matthew Roth’s “The Man Who Collected Food” will be playing at the 2010 Chicago Horror Film Festival. Well, we have more good news. Matthew Roth will also be joining us at the 2010 Chicago Horror Film Festival! So not only are we bring to you an award winning film that had been featured at our May 2010 Indy Horror Film Festival, but also the man who walked away with Best Director for “The Man Who Collected Food.”
“The Man Who Collected Food” is about Miguel Appet who is a serious collector. He must have the color variants, the rarities, the 1950s originals: every food he can find, and keep, in mint condition. No one but his overbearing mother knows that his home, tucked in the quiet suburb of Cibuston, has become a massive museum to comestibles. His neighbors to the right, dad Horace and son Eustice, don’t notice a thing as they plot their next deer hunt (in matching lumberjack plaid). His neighbor to the left, Kelvin Green, is too busy searching for the alien he’s sure attacked him once. And Miguel eats…people. He has to, since eating his precious food is not an option. However, being a cannibal is not as easy as it seems, especially when you have a collection of food to take care of. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1502948/
Call for Submissions now open for Zombie Anthology
Zombie Uprising
Call for Submissions
FOF Publishing is pleased to announce an open submissions period for our first horror anthology, “Zombie Uprising” to be published in paperback early in 2011. With Zombie Uprising, we are looking for horror fiction of the highest order. We drive ourselves to disturb and provoke through the power of stories well told. Bring us your stories about zombies and the early days in the zombie apocalypse so that they will fill our pages with terror.
We place no prior restrictions on content, but please be aware that violence and/or perversity used simply for shock value won’t cut it with us. Works selected for ZU will be those that travel to a place beyond to carry readers into a world where comfort is in short supply, hope is insufficient to save the day and one’s complicity in one’s own fate is laid bare.
Guidelines:
For ZU, we will be reading original, stories of between 6,000 and 25,000 words in length. Each work must be accompanied by a separate synopsis, describing the story in full. All submissions will be reviewed by at least one editor, but a Senior Editor will read every synopsis. Only submissions e-mailed to the address below will be considered. Failure to follow guidelines may result in a submission being rejected without being read.
Submissions deadline is September 1st, 2010, with publication scheduled during the 1st half of 2011. A response to your submission should be expected from us within 90 days of receipt.
For works selected, we pay in one contributor copy. Additional copies will be available to authors at retailer prices and restrictions. For established authors, rates are negotiable. Final response time: six months or sooner. .
Manuscript format:
-12 point courier font
- standard margins
- left side of header: name, contact info
- right side of header: word count
- each paragraph standard indents
Send your submission to submissions@fofpublishing.com

Most FOF sites
The website network is starting to fill out as we have just finished converting Shriek Speak’s website and taking it live. For right now most of these upgrades has only been cosmetic as we haven’t completely filled out much of the content on many of these sites. Now that we have the last of the sites being live, content becomes the next step.
Throughout the weekend we will be fleshing out the pages and fixing little issues as we come across them. If you find an issue with any of the sites, email us at chicagohorrorfest@yahoo.com
Thank You.

The Chicago Horror Film Festival is a 3 day festival from September 24th to September 26th and is filled with Independent Horror films from all over the world as well contests and special events. Festivals in the past have included the “I want to hear you Scream” contest, FX Fashion Shows, Art of Horror galleries, Paranormal Investigations, and of course the Sinister Visions Presented Zombie Pinup Contest. We have also given out numerous awards and have watched as many of the films we have shown find their way into various distribution channels.
We are very proud of our long history, having served the horror community since 2003, and look forward to continuing the tradition for our latest chapter here in 2010! Already we are in talks with many excellent vendors, have talked to some interesting new coordinators as to some new events, and have watched some very exciting film submissions. All of which give the organizers of the Chicago Horror Film Festival goosebumps when thinking about this year’s festival.
“As I always say for every year’s festival and just one of my favorite movie quotes, “We have such sights to show you.’” – Jason R. Davis, Festival Director
